The Hagan-Burke Trail is a 1.4-mile paved trail. It starts with a connection on the north side of the Monon Greenway and heads northeast to 146th Street.

The trail is named after Judy Hagan and Ed Burke, who both served on many different Carmel councils and have been devoted to the City of Carmel community for many years.

Three Indiana artisans created the museum in order to preserve and display scale miniatures and antique dollhouses, and to introduce this art form to others. The vision of these three women was to ensure that collections of quality miniature room settings, houses, and individual pieces would not be lost to future generations.

Children comprise one-quarter of the Museum’s visitors. Through miniatures, children learn the concept of architectural scale, the decorative arts, and the importance of detail.

Whether it’s the miniature reproduction of Hoosier athlete Major Taylor’s bicycle, an example of the beauty of the exterior architecture of a Victorian home or the clean, linear lines of a Mid-Century Modern home, the Museum of Miniature Houses is a fantastic place for adults and children to enjoy the arts, history, and crafts. Museum exhibits change often.

The Museum has hosted more than 110,000 visitors from all over the United States and an average of a dozen foreign countries each year since its opening in 1993. We are a museum of fine art in miniature and it’s only one of a few museums in the country that is devoted to the art of fine scale miniature.

The museum’s collection contains thousands of miniatures including room boxes, miniature houses, and exquisite individual items displayed in seven exhibit rooms. We also have collections of full-sized items that rotate throughout the year.

Connected to the Monon Greenway traveling south from Carmel, the Monon Trail begins south of 96th Street through Broad Ripple, and passes by the Indiana State Fairgrounds before intersecting with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail on the east end of Massachusetts Avenue (Mass Ave).

The Monon Community Center (MCC) is a state-of-the-art facility provides space for the community to gather and enjoy fitness and recreation. 

Located in the heart of Carmel’s Central Park, the facility houses our fitness amenities as well as recreation programs and rental spaces.

Monon Community Center offers a fitness center, group fitness classes, indoor lap pool, The Waterpark (seasonal) and more. You can also enjoy the facility for the day with a day pass. The MCC is open to both Carmel and non-Carmel residents.

In July 2009, the first kegs of beer rolled out the door for delivery, making Sun King the first full scale production brewery in Indy since Indianapolis Brewing Company closed its doors in 1948. Now available on tap and in cans throughout Indiana, Illinois, and Florida, Sun King has grown into the second-largest beer brewer in the state of Indiana.
