One of Fishers’ most charming parks, Heritage Park (10595 Eller Road) is a hidden gem in the heart of Fishers. The 33-acre park located at Eller Road and 106th Street is known for its scenic multi-use and wooded nature trails, one of the best sledding hills in the City, and the beautiful Historic Ambassador House and Heritage Gardens.

Nestled in the center of the park is The Ambassador House, a top-rated wedding and special event venue rich in both history and charm. Originally built in 1826 at the corner of 96th Street and Allisonville Road, the restored Greek Revival-style home was once the summer house of prominent Indianapolis attorney Addison Harris, who served as the U.S. Ambassador to Austria-Hungary from 1899-1901.

In addition to the beautiful Heritage Gardens at the Ambassador House, the park is home to a variety of bird and plant species that visitors can enjoy on the nature trail and the half-mile paved loop trail that serves as the first segment of the White River Greenway. The park is also a popular location for birdwatching and nature study.

Heritage Park is home to several Fishers Parks events, including the free Yappy Hour event and Wine Down Wednesday. Both events offer guests the opportunity to explore Heritage Park and the Historic Ambassador House & Heritage Gardens while enjoying live entertainment.

Liberty Plaza, which features a monument dedicated to those who have served in the armed forces and is the home to Fisher's annual Memorial Ceremony.

Fishers’ Nickel Plate District is in downtown Fishers, just west of 116th Street and I-69. This area has grown tremendously in the past few years, with delicious additions to the food scene like Cooper & Cow Steakhouse, Four Day Ray Brewing, Max & Tilly's, Parks Place Pub, Rush Bowls, Tiburon Coastal Cuisine and The Well Coffeehouse. In the summer months, the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater hosts concerts featuring local musicians and national acts. Walk, bike or run the Nickel Plate Trail that stretches from 106th Street to 146th Street.

Visitors to Smithsonian affiliates throughout the country may view major works of art, historic objects of flight, wonders of nature, icons of American history and other artifacts, artworks and scientific specimens from the Smithsonian’s national collections throughout the year.

Located in the heart of Fishers, Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve (10410 Hague Road) is the perfect place to unplug. The park, one of only two state designated nature preserves in Hamilton County, is approximately 127 acres, and boasts nine beautiful nature trails totaling over 2.25 miles that are perfect for running, walking, or enjoying time in nature.

While exploring the nature trails, visitors can enjoy one of the best spots in the city for bird watching and wildlife sightings, or meander down the Creek Ridge trail for a glimpse of Cheeney Creek located at the north end of the property. A shelter for picnics, several picnic tables, and public restrooms are also available on the property.

Ritchey Woods is home to several Fishers Parks events and programs, including the family favorite National S’mores Day, Keep Fishers Beautiful Spring Service Day, several summer camp programs, and the unique Nature First program.

The Nature First program is a one-of-a-kind partnership with Hamilton Southeastern Schools allowing every first grader in the district to visit, explore, and learn about the nature preserve and the environment through a combination of curriculum based activities and hands-on exploration. Children visit Ritchey Woods in the spring and fall to experience the changing of seasons while also learning about nature and environmental stewardship in the classroom.

Fishers Parks is proud to continue the mission of Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve by heightening awareness for the natural environment, maintaining habitat diversity, and instilling a sense of stewardship for all living things.

Visitors are welcome from dawn to dusk year-round to hike, unplug, and soak up some Vitamin N (for nature).


When you pull up to Parks Place Pub, you’ll see live music on the patio and 46 TV’s showing a variety of sports on the TV’s inside. A menu offering delicious food and any cocktail you can imagine. 

But most importantly, you’ll see a Pub full of great people having the time of their life.

The Nickel Plate Trail is the 40+mile railtrail corridor running from Kokomo in Howard County to Rochester in Fulton County. The Nickel Plate Trail is ideal for walking, hiking, running, bicycling, skating, or even cross country skiing. 

The trail follows what was once the Nickel Plate Railroad, running alongside and in places crossing over, Little Pipe Creek. The landscape surrounding the trail not only looks beautiful, but has the unmistakable fresh smell of the Indiana countryside. No matter how many times you visit the trail, there is always something new for you to discover.

Well cared for, the Nickel Plate Trail is one of the nicest-looking trails in the Midwest. The amazing sights, sounds and scents the trail provides make it much more than just a great place to visit, it’s an experience.
