Lawrence Township

Lawrence is getting the first version of permanent musical swings! The historic theater on the campus was built in 1929 as a theater to entertain the enlisted men at Fort Benjamin Harrison.  It is the only remaining historic building still used for its originally intended purpose. The main entrance to the Fort Ben Cultural Campus is formal and bricked and reminiscent of the Fort’s past.  Limestone benches will line the walk.  Each one hand carved by award winning artist Cheryl Lorance, to tell a story of Fort Harrison through art.

Skiles Test Nature Park is a park on the east side of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. It is in the northern trailhead of the Fall Creek Parkway and loved by hikers, bikers and nature enthusiasts.

Walk or bike on the Fall Creek Trail at Geist Dam from 79st to the Geist Dam. The Geist Dam is fed by the Fall Creek river. It was also used in the construction of the Geist Reservoir. Walking this trail will get you to the best view of the Geist Dam.

Fort Harrison is a state park for many seasons for many reasons. Patrons may enjoy visiting the park year round, especially in winter since Fort Harrison features one of the biggest sledding hills in the area. Spring is the season to walk with the woodland wildflowers in full bloom across the park. Summer is the perfect time for a canoe trip down Fall Creek, the major water feature that runs through the north side of Fort Harrison. Autumn brings warm, sunny days and breathtaking fall colors to this, the last forested corner left in Marion County.
