“Operating a bakery has always been a dream." We’ve always enjoyed bread in its many forms. The idea of a Bakery (Boulangerie) started when we lived in Paris. Ever since we left France, we have been in search of the best baguette you can buy. The main focus of BreadWorks overall concept and design is artisan baguettes, multigrain loaves and sourdoughs. As for what sets this eatery apart from other area bakeries is the setting itself – BreadWorks is something special for our guests, with an area designed for you to enjoy the food, all while watching crepes being made and donuts rolling down an automated belt.

Nicole-Taylor’s Pasta + Market + Backroom Eatery is owned by Chefs Erin Kem and Logan McMahan. 

We are deeply inspired by the vibrant flavors of Mediterranean cuisine and the creativity of vegan cooking. With a shared love for homemade pasta, we aim to bring you a dining experience where these worlds intertwine. Every dish on our restaurant menu is crafted with care, showcasing the freshest ingredients.

The new owners of Nicole-Taylor’s, Erin and Logan, worked with Tony and Rosa through the years in various capacities and bring the same attention to quality food and high-end meal experiences that Tony and Rosa did for decades in Indianapolis.

Our ice cream starts with the best ingredients we can source, and never anything artificial. We make all of our products from scratch in our Indianapolis production space and bring it to you downtown at the Garage and in SoBro at our little blue house just off the Monon on 54th St.

Shopping

We believe love is important for doing good work. As Indiana natives, we love where we live, and we love being a part of the local culture here. We think Indianapolis is a special place, and we are excited to be a part of its burgeoning coffee culture.

We also love coffee and its mystery. Carefully roasted coffee is a work of art, with slight changes in heat and airflow and timing in the roaster making for very different results in the final cup. We never tire of roasting, brewing, or drinking great coffee.   

Last, we love how coffee enriches community. Modern life can be fragmenting, pulling us into a thousand different directions. Craft coffee does the opposite. It calls us to slow down, take in our surroundings, and pay attention to the people and everyday moments that fill out and bring richness to our lives.

We source our beans from experts who search out the best specialty green coffee available and pay a fair price for it. We roast light to medium, with the intent to highlight the coffee’s natural origin flavor, avoiding more roasty or smoky flavors. While coffee is very versatile and everyone has their preferences, we like this approach because we feel it showcases each unique coffee’s potential and gives a very flavorful cup.

Posh Petals Inc., co-owned by Erika White and Meredith Fleming since 2004, is Indy’s premier locally owned florist. We offer custom made arrangements for weddings, celebrations, holiday, events, corporate, and everyday in-home design. We take pride in creating eye-popping floral designs ranging from time-honored to the in vogue. We are also Women Business Enterprise (WBE) certified.

Our in-store eco-friendly gift shop, features local artists from around the Indianapolis area: Ecobags, Douglas David & Onyx Exchange. Posh Petals has also been featured in Traditional Homes, GQ, Sophisticated Living, and more! We invite you to our design studio to watch our designers at work and even browse our floral coolers!


Illinois Street Food Emporium is a great place with a deep connection to the community. The restaurant serves salads, sandwiches, pasta, quesadillas, flatbread pizzas and myriad sweets and breads, including croissants. The signature Tarkington Chicken is an entrée of grilled chicken with wild rice, mushrooms, carrots, onions, artichoke and spinach with Monterey Jack cheese sauce.

From 1928 until the early 70s, the corner of Kessler and College was home to Binkley’s Drug Store, which served the booming Broad Ripple, Forest Hills, and Meridian Kessler neighborhoods. Scores of youngsters got their first fountain drink, milkshake, banana split and, yes, cough medicine at Binkley’s. Years later, many of those same youngsters stopped in to buy their first baby formula, fifth-anniversary card and seventh pair of Foster Grants.  Today,  we still hear stories like these as guests come to dine in our little slice of nostalgia.  Gone are the soda jerks and pharmacy attendants but in their place, a wait staff and kitchen crew looking forward to making your brunch, lunch, dinner or private event a memorable one!

From 1974-1994, the original Bulldog was the place to be for Butler students and residents of South Broad Ripple. Whether it was a stop before walking to a game at Hinkle or partying after a week of classes and work, you had to get there early to beat the rush. Thereafter, Moe and Johnny's operated for over 20 years. Now in 2022, The Bulldog is back in its home and looking to be a part of the neighborhood once again.
