The canal is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy Broad Ripple. You can go on a walk, hike, or feed some ducks. Local buissnesses can also be found along the canal.

A modern, farm-inspired eatery, Public Greens  — so named for the flagship’s location on the city’s heavily traveled public greenway — serves a rotating series of seasonally inspired bowls, grilled, and handheld items. Public Greens is also a working urban microfarm. Under the careful guidance of Patachou’s in-house farmer/beekeeper, the farm, spanning an entire city block, supplies produce, herbs and edible flowers for use in the restaurant. Just Pop In! is an award-winning gourmet popcorn company. We celebrate the best in hospitality and have been popping socks off since 2003! Our café in Broad Ripple Village offers gourmet popcorn, wine, beer and small plates. The upper level includes a beautiful space where we host private parties and events.

Bazbeaux specializes in freshly prepared thin crust pizza. There are 52 toppings to choose from as well as wheat and white crust. Bazbeaux offers an excellent selection of meats, cheeses and vegetables as toppings and is a vegetarian friendly restaurant. Everything is freshly prepared to order. We also offer salads and sandwiches on our menu. Our beer selection is very good and our wine list is very fairly priced compared with industry standards.

Broad Ripple Park is a 62-acre park on the northeast side of Indianapolis, bordering the White River. It offers a wide variety of programs and activities for all ages, and welcomes an estimated 150,000 visitors annually. The Family Center schedules scores of classes throughout the year in dance, safety, sports, fitness, arts, crafts, health, self-defense and other subjects for all age groups. Programs are generally fee-based, and registration is usually required.

The Monon Trail is an asphalt trail that stretches from the town of Sheridan south to downtown Indianapolis. Carmel’s section – the Monon Greenway – runs five miles from 146th Street to 96th Street.

The Monon Greenway replaced the old railroad that used to run straight through Carmel. The greenway is lined with lovely wooded areas. There are several rest stops along the greenway with water fountains and restrooms to make outdoor exercise more convenient.

The Monon Greenway connects to the Monon Trail to continue south of 96th Street through Broad Ripple, and passes by the Indiana State Fairgrounds before intersecting with the Indianapolis Cultural Trail on the east end of Massachusetts Avenue (Mass Ave).
