Bates-Hendricks is a historic neighborhood located just south of downtown Indianapolis, bordered by key cultural and entertainment districts like Fountain Square and Old Southside. Originally named after early Indiana leaders Hervey Bates and Thomas Hendricks, the area has long-standing roots, with the Bates-Hendricks House recognized as a landmark on the National Register of Historic Places.
