Liberty Street

Liberty Street is a Mixology Bar, Historic Pub, and Performance Venue (with really good food). Opened in 2014, Liberty Street reestablished one of the oldest tavern locations along the Avenue. The focal point of Liberty Street is the massive mahogany bar. It was built utilizing pieces from an old pharmacy cabinet that had been removed when Hook’s Drugs purchased the pharmacy. Old growth mahogany was obtained for the bar top, the goal was to create a true Pre-Prohibition Era Bar, that looked like it had been in place since the 1890’s.
Liberty Street features one of the widest selections of Craft and High End Distilled Spirits in Indianapolis, a strong rotating selection of Local and Regional Draft Craft Beers, and a growing cellar of unique local and national bottled beers. Our cocktail menu offers a variety of historic cocktails, as well as unique concoctions available nowhere else.
The Corner Stage at Liberty Street provides an intimate performance setting with ideal acoustics for a variety of Jazz, Blues, Folk, and even Rock and Roll ensembles. Performances are generally Thursday thru Saturday starting at 10 PM, Sundays a bit earlier. Watch our calendar and Facebook page for up to date events.

Chatham-Arch
Chatham Arch is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Indianapolis, located in the northeast corner of downtown just off Massachusetts Avenue. Its irregular street grid and historic architecture date back to before the Civil War, offering a rare look at the early development of the city. The area includes preserved workers’ cottages from the 1860s and early 1870s, historic duplexes, and early apartment buildings, alongside a variety of newer townhomes and infill development. This mix of old and new helps define Chatham Arch’s character—where cobblestone alleyways and brick facades sit side-by-side with modern design and city access.
The neighborhood is anchored by the Mass Ave Cultural District, a bustling corridor filled with restaurants, bars, boutique shops, and live performance venues. Residents enjoy local favorites like Chatham Tap and Mesh, while The Bottleworks District — a renovated Coca-Cola bottling plant turned hotel, market, and entertainment space — adds a hub of activity and destination appeal. Throughout the neighborhood, you'll also find street-level retail mixed with residential spaces, creating a pedestrian-friendly environment ideal for walking, biking, or exploring.
Green space and connectivity are also part of daily life here. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail runs through the area, linking Chatham Arch to other downtown districts and providing easy access for joggers and cyclists. With its walkable layout, historical significance, and access to both local culture and citywide amenities, Chatham Arch offers a distinct blend of neighborhood identity and downtown energy.
